The Dynamic Arts programs weave all subject areas through intrinsic interests and choices. From this place a joy of learning unfolds and creates an atmosphere where students are inspired to reach their full potential. Through student voices, immersion, deep learning, interactive practices and mentorships a challenging and exciting in-depth academic landscape is exposed. By providing a colorful pallet of experiences and choices, Dynamic Arts along with parents, teachers, mentors and the greater community support students in their design of a successful educational experience.

Mission Statement

Our aim is to create a learning environment that promotes the joy of learning as a valuable currency in serving students as life long learners.

Synopsis

How do we define art?  The Dynamic Arts (DA) interprets art as the practice of developing skills that students perform in becoming their most capable selves. Humans are innate learners and when students are inspired their best efforts occur naturally. This kind of momentum provides the fertile soil that becomes art.  Most of us think of art as what we might see in an art museum, however it is so much more!  DA presents the opportunity for art in all projects. We want our students to know that whether they are doing projects in culinary arts, architecture, gaming, music, theater, science, fine arts, industrial arts, graphic design, web development, literary expressions, glass works, business, pottery, technology, folk art, farming, garden design and athletics, art is present. DA’s use of multi-sensory, interdependent team projects, learning-by-doing pedagogy, develops deep learning.

Our student’s confidence grows through engagement, ownership and real world experience. Students participating in DA platforms experience success through achievement. Mentorship is a key ingredient in the process. Students are supported and sparked by great teachers, experts, professionals, leaders and inspired individuals. These different perspectives stimulate enthusiasm that empowers authentic learning. It is this real world exposure that supports daily practices of attainment. Learning in this multi sensory and multi modality environment suits many learning styles.

For example;

When students in a typical classroom want to learn how to ride a bike but are only given “how to” reading material, their chances of becoming proficient riders are limited. However, when students are given a bike and the opportunity to work within a team or with an expert their chances of mastering riding are greatly enhanced.

To achieve our learning objectives and help change our relationship with school, Dynamic Arts transforms traditional classroom settings. Our DA campuses (determined by the needs of the community) will offer studios, laboratories, gymnasiums, kitchens, libraries, theaters, performing arts centers, student boutiques, technology centers and more. Other community and outside learning environments are also part of the curriculum and incorporate areas such as forests, museums, deserts, pastures, marinas, transportation hubs, courthouses etc.

Sections of DA campuses will house structures that are geodesic domes in nature. These buildings are State certified and provide environmentally sustainable concepts. The studios will be constructed and reconstructed by the students themselves each year and will help provide them with ownership of their own education. They also offer curriculum in science, math, physics, language arts and platforms for further in-depth studies.

Art blurs the line between work and play and encourages learning from mistakes, which is true practice. The DA campuses fill with excitement as a powerful learning momentum develops and is shared with all students. This interaction among students builds confidence and skills, which allow students to take on the challenges of assessments, demonstrations, teaching and developing new experiences in creativity.

The Dynamic Arts schools will also focus on developing artist in residence programs and teacher intern programs with colleges and universities. These new teachers with experience in project oriented curriculum will continue to help develop Dynamic Arts to serve the health and vitality of their communities

There is no failure in art for it is the human expression of creativity and imagination.

Joy is not a trivial luxury;

it is the emotion that is essential

for human thriving.
